What is sticky?

When you post a topic, they ask whether to have it posted normal or sticky. What is the point of sticky? I know I should know. But can anyone answer?

A sticky topic will always stay at the top. So it wont go down the list when there are new topics. It's mostly used for important announcements. A sticky will only be in the forum you put it in. As for an Announcement, that will appear at the top in ALL forums. I think staff is only able to do sticky and announcement. I dont know.... icon_smile.gif
