The Thief series
Another one of my favorite gaming series, and also one with a ton of fan created missions. Has anyone here ever played Thief one or two? I know there's a third one on the way for PC this fall. Ion Storm, the people behind Deus Ex and the sequel, are also making Thief 3 as Looking Glass studios has bit the dust, or so I hear.
I heard that its gonna be ported to the X-box or PS2 sometime after the PC release. Hopefully its nothing like RtC: Wolfenstein and comes out a year later. After being w/o a PC that could play games for so long, it's hard to get used to the mouse/keyboard type thing that all PC FPS's seem to be doing. To me it's console FPS or nothing.
O yeah, did anyone here, besides me, hate Hitman 2? That game annoyed the hell outta me.

I've played two, didn't really like it too much it was ok, wouldn't go out and buy it though.

I'm a converted soul. I use nothing but mouse and keyboard now. Hard to get used to but once it takes it's not so bad. I only ever use a gamepad for the MechWarrior stuff nowadays. I bought Hitman 2 not only because I like the character, but because I wanted to see all the political incorrectness the Sikhs spoke about in the Afghanistan levels. Big deal! It's only a game. I knew it would only be a matter of time before politics would ruin games. Seems you can't do anything w\o pissing someone, somewhere off today (Hello Postal 2.)
Ha, I just got Postal 2 off Ebay yesterday. Can't wait to play it, and then be bored with it in 40 minutes.Theres just something about owning the first game given an Ultra Violence rating that I like.

Well Computer Gaming World gave Postal 2 a NO STAR RATING and supposedly it's a first for them. But then again crybaby Robert Coffey also gave Soldier of Fortune a blasting because he said that the game came down to nothing more than killing minorities while the white people had enough tattoos on their faces to cover up that they were white. Give me a break....
I had Postal 2 for a few days and liked it but my system kept slowing down.
Now that I have more memory (slapped another 128 in a few weeks ago) maybe I'll be OK. Oh, and if you want to blow away terrorists, and who dosen't, Postal 2 gies you a very special oppurtunity to do so. I laughed like hell during that board. Oh, and cat lovers are in for a REAL treat. LMAO

lol, egm gave them a zero as well. they said it 2 violent and its uncalled for, they gave such examples as kicking ur own dog, and playing @%#-hunter which is quite humourous in my opinion
LOL, sounds good to me. I thought Soldier of Fortune (for the computer at least) was supposed to be a kick ass game. I played a little bit of it after I heard about the gore system it had, and thought it to be a solid enough FPS. Who the hell brings up a racial debate in videogame reviews anyways? What a jackass, besides, you're playing a soldier. SOLDIERS KILL MINORITIES ALL THE TIME, AS OF NOW THEY ARE!! That reviewer needs a good beating... or 5. And I was pondering, is it possible to kill Gary Coleman when you meet him in the game.

I don't think it's so much of an issue of soldiers killing minorities as it is the fact that in SOF, you travlelled all over and dealt with enemies that were modelled after their appropriate races according to geographical locale.
I mean, Japanese were in Japan, the African soldiers were on the train in Africa. So to me they were being realistic in portraying the people as they really are in those countries and not a racial thing.
As far as the Postal 2, the scene where the priests come out of the church loaded with guns made me laugh my ass off. You get suicide bombed by Osama Bin Laden lookalikes and the priests come out of the church, and the one says "My brothers, it is time to lay as ass whipping of Biblical proportions!" And the other priests locks and loads and says "Bring it on you pajama wearing savages!" While the part about pajame wearing savages was a bit inappropriate (stereotyping all MidEasterners for their clothing) I DO agree that terrorists are savages, and therefore, I had fun with this one.
Oh and yeah you CAN kill Gary Coleman if the police don't get to him first, but if you shoot at him, the police will shoot ay YOU, so be warned. Oh, and be onthe lookout for Krotchy (nuff' said, you have to see THIS one to believe it!) LMFAO
I cant wait the 7 more days for that game to get here! Also, the fact that SoF is 55 missions (at least on X-box) of you running around killing minorities, can make me kinda see where the racial groups are coming from. Nevertheless, I tell them all, GET A DAMNN JOB AND STOP UR BITCHIN!!
