To my knowledge, Sony doesn't charge you for using their online networks. But they will in the future. Do you think that's alright, or maybe, gamers need a break from buying all of their add-ons (network adapter, hardrive). Well I think, don't charge us to play. Let us be free. _________________ Out of many there is one. Out of one there is many.

you have to pay for Everquest Online Adventures, i hope they do not charge for using their networks, but at least it has been free up till n ow, people pay for xbox live and then if they want to play phantasy star they pay more money, its all a scam.....
xbox has a 4x better online system, there servers a better, no lag, better secrurity..and sony can't keep online free forever because servers cost alot to maintain..specialy for that many gamers.. _________________

Dat really does stink. Eventually you'll hav to pay, and also buy all the add-ons. But do you think PS3 will be better equipped for the online ride? _________________ Out of many there is one. Out of one there is many.

i personally think console companies like screwing people over so i personally think you will still need to buy the hardware and pay so i think you will either need to buy a live type of thing or the actual hardware like ps2 has already

Mike, I especiall like your views on how they purposely, make add-ons to "screw you over." You are exactly right. Right now the competition is mainly focused on PS2 and the X Box. Microsoft doesn't make plenty of add-ons, especially not for the internet (I'm talking about the network adapter, not X Box Live). But somehow Sony remains very confident in it's fans to pull through for them. Will it happen. Since as of now PS2 online is free, will it beat X Box live? _________________ Out of many there is one. Well i think PS2 will start charging after awhile because the fact that more people are getting online and that is their whole plan is to get as much people to get their product (network) as soon as think they have enough people that's when the big money sign comes to play! i'm sure they will add upgrades saying you have to pay or else you don't connect online, which really sucks, but i guess it's only fair to pay online, servers aren't cheap _________________ GOKU
I have no doubt in my mind the ps2 will never come close to beating Microsoft's Online setup because theirs was very poorly designed. Oh and the fact the ps2 makes u buy addons? lets see harddrive 100 dollars + 50 networks adapter + system = well over 300 dollars. yet microsoft + live = 250ish + better online titles. The fact that u bring up console companies screwing the average gamer over is true, but sony does it more its just no one really sees it. Sony left out the harddrive and modem for one purpose, to make it smaller and look cooler. ok ok u might hate me for what i said but it be true ;p.. besides i don't think sony had plans for online until around ps3, but then microsoft came in and launched live so they launched their terribly set up online system. microsoft was perpared and tought ahead, sony didn't i think they were to high to think someone else could ever bring them down. we'll see around 2005 which will be better.. on and i don't doubt sony will make their ps3 online capable if they didn't they'd be dumb. so theres my long anwser to a short question ;p _________________
