james, with the y-cable you can charge the gba:sp and on the same cord is a spot for headphones, not necisarily for the mad cats ones, which i dont like very much, but it has the regular headphone plug in so i dont c y you wouldnt be able yo your your own hundreds dollar gamin head phones, but id rather have a couple games then those headphones

gba:sp has nothing to do w/ lans.........plus u can get headphones for like 5 bucks
