1. For a bird who can't fly, you sure travel a lot - Adventure through 18 fun-filled, mission-based chapters as you battle enemies, collect useful tools, scout out danger and explore new surroundings. Travel across zoo environments like the Lion's Pen and Monkey Cage, then take a dangerous trek through the subway system, hop on a boat bound for Africa and explore Antarctica and Madagascar. Assist your zoomates along the way to earn their help in later missions. Plus, navigate freely between completed levels for even more replayability.
2. To some, it's a soda bottle. To you, it's transportation - Use crazy contraptions and unique gadgets, such as a soda bottle jet pack or hamburger wrapper parachute, to help you break free from the confines of the zoo.
3. Climb "hand over hand" using leftover candy canes as hooks, hurl fruit with a homemade slingshot and blow sleeper darts through a twisty straw. Defeat those that get in your way with your secret "bass knuckles" weapon—a sea bass that serves as a dastardly device.
4. Bust some new moves against a boatload of enemies - Run, jump, karate chop and swim along the water's surface as you try to escape your enemies such as foosa, pigeons, rats, bees, porcupines, chameleons, baboons, snakes, walruses, crocodiles and lemmings. Power-up with special moves and the deadly "Smile and Wave" to outwit your foes. In the prologue level of the game, and during your final dangerous escape, face off with Mrs. Magoo's pesky two-faced dog, Mr. Chew.
5. Meet up with movie star mammals - Film favorites Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe and Gloria the Hippo each get their own special level in Madagascar: Operation Penguin. Playing as Alex, use your roar and jump to battle monkeys. On Marty's level, pull off a tough stealth mission. Melman takes the lead in a dancing mini-game, and Gloria gets her own boss level where a case of stolen fruit is for the birds.
