Aspyr Media Inc. Ships "Command & Conquer Generals" for MacPosted on Tuesday, April 13, 2004 @ 05:56:37 am E.S.T
Aspyr Media Inc. today began shipping "Command & Conquer(TM) Generals," a 3D real-time strategy game for Macintosh(R) that will deliver the intensity and chaos of modern war. The game was licensed from Electronic Arts (Nasdaq:ERTS) and Macintosh conversion was completed by i5works.
"Command & Conquer Generals" puts players' trigger fingers on the pulse of modern warfare as they become a powerful general and control massive armies of bleeding-edge military weaponry across a globe teetering on the brink of Armageddon.
"We're tremendously excited to bring 'Command and Conquer Generals' to Macintosh gamers worldwide. Generals will give gamers a Hollywood version of modern war with intense combat and spectacular special effects," said Mark Skaggs, VP and executive producer at EALA.
Players can command one of three unique armies inspired by real-world ideologies: the high-tech U.S. force, the vast Chinese war machine, or the resourceful Global Liberation Army. Each side represents a distinct geo-political viewpoint and has customizable high-tech arsenals ready to deliver unprecedented firepower on land or in the skies.
Players can annihilate the opposition in the 22-mission single-player campaign or dish out the damage in global multiplayer mayhem. As a General, smart decisions and victories over enemies will gain players experience points. These points can then be allocated to unlocking new units and weapons of mass destruction.
The game is rated "T" for Teen by the ESRB and is available at retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $49.99.
