NetFire to Host Official Painkiller ServersPosted on Tuesday, March 30, 2004 @ 08:12:47 pm E.S.T
NetFire.com and DreamCatcher Interactive reached an agreement today to host official Painkiller Game Servers throughout North America. Also being included is Game Daemons, the sister company to NetFire, which will be taking a role in handling the administrative tasks for these game ports through its core hardware infrastructure.
DreamCatcher, one of the fastest growing publishers and distributors of interactive entertainment in the market today, will launch Painkiller, on April 12th. Designed for the most avid gaming audience, this new title is expected to take the industry by storm with fresh innovations and an extraordinary design.
“We chose NetFire’s key infrastructure because of its reputation of reaching end-users on a large scale,” said Brian Gladman of DreamCatcher Interactive. “Their large, robust network accompanied by their geographic presence provides the best solution for DreamCatcher to promote Painkiller throughout North America.”
According to Matthew Jones, COO of NetFire, this presents great opportunities to create exposure for Painkiller. “Working with DreamCatcher and their staff in launching their online products has been very exciting. They are offering an incredible title to the public and we are excited to work out an agreement with them.”
As part of the agreement, Game Daemons will be administrating and managing the game ports throughout all locations while NetFire will be providing the bandwidth over their network. Users will have access to multiple servers throughout North America that will ensure maximum uptime and low latency time periods. “Painkiller is an incredible product and we are excited to host DreamCatcher’s latest release,” said Michael Mings, Sales Director for ProHosting Corporation and its subsidiaries. “Our company has worked extremely hard over the past few years in architecting the most reliable infrastructure in the industry. Now that we have that, services can be provided to large scale entities in providing professional hosting solutions.”
Officials from NetFire and DreamCatcher expect the servers to be available at the start of the second quarter in 2004.
