Ignition Entertainment Announces Pool Paradise

Posted on Saturday, February 21, 2004 @ 01:43:42 am E.S.T

Daylight come and you wanna play pool? Sure; but you’ve just been brought to the shore of an exotic South Pacific Island – with no cash. But wait! There’s an animated loan shark underwater who’s more than willing to lend you a little “green.” He may come back to bite you, of course!

It’s 6-Ball, 7-Ball, 8-Ball, bunch – a whole bunch more in Pool Paradise, the latest and greatest pool game from the world-renowned pool video game designer Archer Maclean and Ignition Entertainment Ltd.

Go ahead – play pool poolside in a panoramic paradise! It’s an island getaway where you’ll encounter 31 pool sharks, all of whom would love to lighten your wallet. If you can turn the tables on them, you’ll win some coin for yourself. Win money in a league, cup, or championship, or make side bets on games or individual shots. Then use your earnings to go on a shopping spree in the pro shop hut to buy better cues, chalk, laser sights, view lines, coaching – even tables! Or maybe you’d just like to take a break and have a little fun with that cash …

“This is the crown jewel of pool games from the crown prince of pool game design, Archer Maclean,” says Ken Gratz, Director of Product Development for Ignition Entertainment Ltd (USA). “The pool physics are incredible and the island graphics are luscious. With an interesting array of 31 characters represented by 31 highly detailed and uniquely animated hands capable of expression (and some very subtle and humorous finger movements!) for competition, a wide variety of different types of pool games, the betting and buying, and the bonus games hidden throughout the island, Pool Paradise is a truly unique gaming experience.”

Play 7-Ball, 8-Ball, 9-Ball, 15-Ball, 14-to-1 Continuous, Bowlliards, Killer and Rotation – Pool Paradise has them all! As you explore your island paradise you’ll discover hidden challenges throughout the game such as darts and the classic Dropzone Hut (a beach hut housing a version of Archer Maclean’s seminal 80’s hit arcade game!).

“There’s so much going on in this game that it’s tough to list it all,” says Gratz. “You’ve got 1 and 2 player modes with full memory-save features, including personality profiles. Then there are

five separate sub games, a trickshot mode with variable rate replay and record features, and eight camera modes - from close in action chase cams to static top-down. And we have 11 different tables, seven different cues, ten types of tournaments, and 15 great audio tracks. Plus, there’s this incredible island paradise to explore. Depth and quality are the benchmarks of Pool Paradise.”

Pool Paradise (GameCubeä & PC) is scheduled for release in April, 2004 - from Ignition Entertainment!
