Did You Know? - Nintendo at Sundance

Posted on Wednesday, January 28, 2004 @ 02:24:41 pm E.S.T

Each year nearly 40,000 people descend on the small town of Park City, Utah, to celebrate independent films, and Nintendo is there to support them. For 23 years, the Sundance Film Festival has been one of the most important film festivals in the world, drawing celebrities and filmmakers alike. This year Nintendo supported both the WireImage Portrait Studio and Daily Variety's "10 Directors to Watch" event.

  • Celebrities like Ed Norton, Ashton Kutcher, Mos Def, Joe Pantoliano, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie stopped by the WireImage studio to retrieve their credentials, and get their hands on some Nintendo GameCube(TM) and Game Boy(R) Advance SP units and games.
  • Other notables who visited the studio include Kevin Bacon, David Allen Grier, Christina Applegate, Zach Braff, Matt Dillon, Lance Bass, Shannon Elizabeth, Courteney Cox and David Arquette.
  • Daily Variety awarded each of the "10 Directors to Watch" on Jan. 20 with gift baskets of Nintendo products, while other partygoers in attendance sampled Nintendo GameCube games. Billy Zane spent nearly the entire party competing on the Nintendo GameCube!
