Dynasty Warriors 4 Xtreme Legends Has Gone Gold

Posted on Tuesday, October 14, 2003 @ 12:12:24 am E.S.T

Having already shipped over a half a million units in its native Japan, KOEI Corporation today announced that Dynasty Warriors(R)4 Xtreme Legends has gone gold and the game will be ready to ship to North American Retailers on November 4, 2003. Consumers eager to reserve their copy of Dynasty Warriors 4 Xtreme Legends for the PlayStation(R)2 computer entertainment system can pre-order the title now at gamestop.com and ebgames.com.

Playable as a standalone game and as an expansion disc, Dynasty Warriors 4 Xtreme Legends will debut at a suggested retail of only US$29.99.

Dynasty Warriors 4 Xtreme Legends includes all of the characters from the original Dynasty Warriors 4, plus new elements, and new modes of play. DW4XL 's Xtreme Mode features a series of randomly generated short stages, Kingdom Creation missions, and a system where players can purchase items and even the services of another officer. Legend Mode focuses on the fabled exploits of the 42 Dynasty Warriors. Each officer has a unique stage and storyline. In some stages, players may have to fight without the aid of bodyguards! The new "Arena" Challenge, players engage in a series of endurance style one-on-one duels and then are evaluated on their performance.

As a remix disc, DW4XL can power up the original Dynasty Warriors 4 for PlayStation 2 with 4XL's new features. Players can take characters powered-up in DW4XL and use them in DW4, discover new items, attain an 11th weapon level, and access "Beginner" and "Expert" difficulty levels.

Gamers can now take an exciting journey through the compelling universe of Dynasty Warriors at www.dw4xl.com, the premier online destination for news, information, downloads and more- directly from the game's creators.

Produced by KOEI's internal development team, Omega Force, Dynasty Warriors 4 Xtreme Legends is exclusive to the PlayStation 2, and is a 1-2 Player game. Dynasty Warriors 4 Xtreme Legends ships to North American retailers on November 4, 2003 with a suggested retail of $29.99, and is rated "T" (Teen- Mild Language, Violence) by the ESRB.

Dynasty Warriors 4 is available now for PlayStation 2 and the Xbox(TM) video game system from Microsoft.
