The Simpsons Hit & Run is on Store Shelves Now

Posted on Tuesday, September 16, 2003 @ 05:40:30 pm E.S.T

Grab a box of donuts and pick up the controller, it’s time to take Homer and the gang for an adventure through Springfield in the “Best Simpsons. Game. Ever.” according to the October 2003 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly. Vivendi Universal Games announced today that The Simpsons Hit & Run for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox video game system from Microsoft and Nintendo GameCube™ has shipped to retail stores nationwide for a suggested retail price of $49.99. Developed in collaboration with Gracie Films and series creator Matt Groening, The Simpsons Hit & Run is a “must-have” for both gamers and fans alike.

Developed by Radical Entertainment and licensed by Twentieth Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising, The Simpsons Hit & Run is a hilarious mission-based driving game featuring the signature humor of The Simpsons set in the interactive world of Springfield U.S.A., featuring such locations as the Kwik-E-Mart, the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant and Moe’s Tavern. Players will be challenged to explore more than 50 driving and on-foot missions as one of five playable characters - Homer, Bart, Marge, Lisa, and Apu.

“By combining a brand new story written by award-winning Simpsons writers and voiceovers from the original show cast, Hit & Run promises a genuinely hilarious interactive experience,” said Phil O’Neil, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Vivendi Universal Games. “Anyone who has ever watched The Simpsons will immediately enjoy Hit & Run for its ability to capture the spirit of the show and allow players to participate in the wild world of Springfield.”

The Simpsons Hit & Run also features 49 hidden collector cards containing episode-specific bonus material from the many seasons of the television show as well as loads of in-game animated gags and jokes, giving fans of The Simpsons all of the humor and wit of Springfield and its citizens.

The Simpsons Hit & Run is available now on PlayStation 2, Xbox and Nintendo GameCube for a suggested retail price of $49.99 with an ESRB “Teen” rating. For more information, log on to www.thesimpsons-hitandrun.com.
