Disney Launches a Trio of Inspired GBA Games

Posted on Wednesday, October 13, 2004 @ 01:22:51 pm E.S.T

Disney Interactive, a publishing label of Buena Vista Games, Inc., today announced the release of its Disney Channel inspired line-up of Nintendo Game Boy® Advance titles: Disney’s That’s So Raven, Disney’s Lizzie McGuire 2: Lizzie Diaries and Disney’s Lilo & Stitch 2: Hamsterviel Havoc. Kids in-the-know can now immerse themselves in the world of hit television programs and interact with today’s most popular characters Raven, Lizzie, Lilo and Stitch. Each title is packed full of action and adventure that girls, boys and Disney fans will love.

“Since the launch of our first Disney Channel inspired GBA, Kim Possible, we have collectively shipped more than a million units of games based on these exciting hit television properties,” said Dana Long, director of marketing, Buena Vista Games, Inc. “Disney Interactive’s fall GBA line-up captures the spirit of Disney Channel’s programming and is filled with a variety of gameplay, from high-powered action to engaging puzzle solving, that players can take with them wherever they go.”

Disney’s That’s So Raven
Disney’s That’s So Raven is a fresh and exciting side-scrolling action-adventure that brings to life four episodes of the unpredictable “That’s So Raven” television series running on Disney Channel. Fans will have a blast taking on the lead role of psychic teenager Raven and interacting with her best friends Eddie and Chelsea as they work their way through 20 challenging levels and four mini-games, including Run Raven Run, Clothes Minded, Smell of Victory and Four’s a Crowd, in order to work their way through disastrous teenage situations, like a food fight. Players will need to harness unique moves like purse swinging, perfume spraying and water bottle throwing in order to keep the principal at arms length and keep themselves out of detention.

Disney’s Lizzie McGuire 2: Lizzie Diaries
Disney’s Lizzie McGuire 2: Lizzie Diaries, the follow-up to last year’s smash success Disney’s Lizzie McGuire: On the Go!, is based on the top-rated “Lizzie McGuire” television series starring teen sensation Hilary Duff and airing on Disney Channel. This time around, kids can experience extreme fun in the role of animated Lizzie in an all-new side-scrolling action-adventure filled with 12 levels. Players can travel to Lizzie’s favorite places to hang, like the beach and shopping mall. Along the way they must be on the lookout for cheerleaders and other rivals who are plotting to ruin the day.

Disney’s Lilo & Stitch 2: Hamsterviel Havoc
Disney’s Lilo & Stitch 2: Hamsteviel Havoc is based on Disney Channel’s hit television program “Lilo & Stitch,” and is the sequel to the wildly popular Disney’s Lilo & Stitch GBA. In this new action-packed adventure, kids play as both Stitch and Lilo and are sent on a mission to defeat the evil Hamsterviel with the help of 7 Experiments. Throughout 29 action-packed levels of gameplay, fans must outsmart and overpower Hamsterviel and several other alien Experiments that have turned on the awesome duo in order to successfully complete the game.

Players must start by capturing each Experiment and harnessing their special power in order to progress and capture the next, such as with Sparky, Experiment 22, which can help players out with his powerful electricity balls, or Richter, Experiment 513, which can shake things up by igniting a rockin’, rollin’ earthquake! The game includes three modes of play, including platform shooting as Stitch, navigation and strategy as Lilo and action-packed racing.

Also currently available from Disney Interactive is this summer’s smash hit Disney’s Kim Possible 2: Drakken’s Demise:

Disney’s Kim Possible 2: Drakken’s Demise
Kim’s back in Disney’s Kim Possible 2: Drakken’s Demise! Based on Disney Channel’s popular animated television series “Disney’s Kim Possible,” the title lets girls and boys join the heroine’s action-packed world as they relive four episodes of the popular program, leading Kim Possible into hair-raising adventures as they battle crime and capture evil foes, including Dr. Drakken. All along the way, players will meet up with favorite characters from the show, such as Ron Stoppable,Rufus and Wade.

Filled with 16 levels of gameplay, Kim Possible 2: Drakken’s Demise lets kids experience the thrill of being a teen hero as they lead Kim into four missions, where they aim to capture the bad guys, including Dr. Drakken, Shego, Duff Killigan, Gemini and Falsetto Jones. Kim must harness the use of a variety of original gadgets, including the Grappling Hook, a Glue Bomb, Hot Sauce, a Stealth Suit and a Hand Mirror, to subdue her enemies. Players also use tricky acrobatic abilities, which they can learn through the use of the exclusive shadow training mode, to outmaneuver opponents as they move through each level. As players acquire new gadgets and abilities, they can also go back to previous levels in order to access areas that were previously unreachable.

Availability and Pricing
Disney’s That’s So Raven, Disney’s Lizzie McGuire 2: Lizzie Diaries, Disney’s Lilo & Stitch 2: Hamsterview Havoc and Disney’s Kim Possible 2: Drakken’s Demise are available nationwide for the suggested retail price of $29.99.
