Alienware®, the leading manufacturer of high-performance desktop, notebook, media center, and professional systems will be featured at QuakeCon 2004. The video game festival and tournament will take place at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas from August 12-15. Alienware will supercharge the hottest new games with its high-performance machines, plus offer gamers the unbelievable opportunity to win an Area-51m notebook in the Alienware and Activision sponsored, DOOM 3™ Kornelia FragFest.
Each year QuakeCon attracts thousands of gamers to view the latest technology, see the hottest new games, play on a giant gaming network and compete in a world-class tournament. Attendees get a first-hand look at Alienware Area-51m gaming notebook systems at the NVIDIA and Activision booths, while the bring-your-own-computer (BYOC) LAN party areas showcase Alienware Aurora-m64(TM) 64-bit processing notebooks and ALX(TM) premium, high-performance systems. The DOOM 3 Kornelia FragFest is the most anticipated event of QuakeCon. An Alienware Area-51m notebook emblazoned with DOOM 3 artwork is up for grabs as the grand prize in this competition. The live action is set to take place on August 13th and will be broadcast on plasma screens throughout QuakeCon. The games will be emceed by DJWheat and Trillian, with coverage provided by the Global Gaming League (GGL). Gamers must go up against Kornelia, “Queen of Quake”, ranked the number one female Quake player for many years. Players that are able to step up to the challenge and succeed in getting a frag on Kornelia will be entered into a drawing to win an Area-51m high-performance notebook.
