Namco Releases New Screenshots for "ACE COMBAT 5"

Posted on Friday, June 25, 2004 @ 04:02:42 pm E.S.T

Get ‘em while they’re HOT! Leading video games developer and publisher Namco Hometek Inc. released today more than 70 new screenshots for ACE COMBAT 5, the company’s latest addition to its million-unit selling Ace Combat franchise. The new screenshots offer a first look at several new planes, including the Tornado GR1 and JAS 39C, as well as a never-before-seen look at the game’s new Wingman Command feature. The Wingman Command screen shots detail the use of Attack, Cover and Disperse commands as well as the selection and use of Special Weapons. Additionally, the new screens highlight previously unseen environments, cinematics and squadron formations found throughout game play. Developed by Namco Limited in Japan, ACE COMBAT 5 will ship exclusively for the Sony PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system in Fall 2004.

ACE COMBAT 5 brings together highly realistic graphics and dog fighting with the adrenaline rush of squadron command to offer the most explosive title yet in the ACE COMBAT series. Including more than 50 licensed planes and an intense storyline spanning over 30 missions, players are put through an ultimate test with air-to-air combat, air-to-ground fighting, air-to-sea assaults, rescue, recon and more. With the addition of Wingman Command, players can now issue mid-mission directives to wingmen and orchestrate group attacks. Additionally, players have access to in-game radio communications with their squadrons and enemies, adding to the realism and intensity of the game’s dynamic battle sequences.
