Electronic Arts (Nasdaq:ERTS) today announced FIFA 2005 and SSX Out of Bounds(a) for the N-Gage(TM) game deck. The latest in EA's growing N-Gage line-up, the new titles will feature gameplay that maximizes the N-Gage functionality by allowing players to experience the thrill of multiplayer competition via Bluetooth wireless technology, as well as provide access to the N-Gage Arena for additional play-enhancing services. FIFA 2005 and SSX Out of Bounds(a) are scheduled for release in Fall 2004.
"FIFA 2005 and SSX Out of Bounds(a) expand and enhance our N-Gage portfolio," said Nancy Smith, Executive Vice President, General Manager North America Publishing at EA. "Now featuring Bluetooth functionality, N-Gage players around the world can share the next instalment of FIFA Soccer, and the over-the-top action of SSX, with friends."
"We are focused on delivering the most entertaining mobile gaming experience. These games make that possible. Both FIFA and SSX are franchises that have proven appeal on a global scale. We are thrilled that they are coming to the N-Gage this year," said Pasi Polonen, Director of Games Publishing, Games Business Unit, Nokia.
With FIFA Soccer 2005, soccer fans can select their favorite real-life team, play "friendlies" and compete against the club or international team of their choosing. If players want to get deeper into the game, they can guide their favorite team through a full season of league or tournament play. Playing against others is easy with support for multiplayer competition via Bluetooth wireless technology.
SSX Out of Bounds(a) challenges gamers to drop in and conquer a massive mountain filled with ego-crushing challenges and gravity-bending thrills. Players can choose from 10 characters and compete in race, trick and other modes. There are 9 original tracks that are unique to the N-Gage platform (4 Race, 2 slopestyle, 2 half-pipe, 1 backcountry) and players have the opportunity to level-up characters and earn new outfits, boards and gear. With support for multiplayer racing via Bluetooth, conquering the competition has never been easier.
