LOS ANGELES - Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) Booth #800 - May 12, 2004 - Konami Digital Entertainment - America, a division of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc., today revealed new information about Dance Dance Revolution EXTREME™ (DDR EXTREME) for the PlayStation® 2 computer entertainment system. The newest addition in the groundbreaking multi-million selling Dance Dance Revolution™ series, DDR EXTREME will introduce a whole new level of interaction in the popular franchise with the EyeToy™ USB Camera for PlayStation® 2.
"Dance Dance Revolution EXTREME is the first Konami title to incorporate EyeToy Camera support in the U.S. and there couldn't be a better video game to leverage its capabilities," said Geoff Mulligan, Chief Operating Officer, Konami Digital Entertainment - America. "The visual and motion components of the game and the EyeToy Camera blend together perfectly to provide the most engaging and interactive video game experience on the market."
Dancing for top score and bragging rights, DDR EXTREME challenges players to step onto the interactive dance pad for either single play or head-to-head competition. With the addition of EyeToy Camera support, players can now physically become part of the game - appearing live on TV! Technique, style and timing are required as players move their arms, hips and body to the beat of the music. By accessing the new "Hands & Feet" mode, players follow visual cues to complete the song, while the "Clean the Screen" mode requires players to wave their hands to clear an obstructed view on the screen. For gamers with style, the "Watch Me Dance" mode lets players see themselves strut their stuff in the background of the game. Other fun mini-games and EyeToy Camera modes are also planned for the game.
DDR EXTREME includes an impressive collection of 70 new songs, showcasing more than 100 minutes of pulsating tunes. Including hits from Duran Duran, Junior Senior, Village People, BT and other well-known artists in pop music, DDR EXTREME will have players up on their feet and waving their hands in the air to the ultimate interactive dancing experience.
Rounding out this complete DDR package and ensuring players are getting off the couch and onto the dance floor is the return of the popular "Work Out" mode, allowing players to track the calories they burn as they dance off the pounds.
DDR EXTREME will be supporting Dolby Pro Logic II and is scheduled to ship in September 2004. Posted By: Adam Paoli - 170 Reads
